What lies ahead, I have no way of knowing
But under my feet, baby, grass is growing
It's time to move on, its time to get going'

Came back from Homer for the weekend. Did mostly drinking rather than fishing. I did, however, get to chow down on some seriously good and amazingly fresh King Salmon (courtesy of my host). The main reason for Homer was checking out the Alaskan Collective of couchsurfing. A huge party with dedicated and fun people. After some hard partying and meeting all the people responsible for the awesome site, I pitched a tent in the front yard and dozed. I know the party kept going well into the morning, I mean, there was a hot tub in the backyard overlooking the beach.
Well, I spent two weeks here in Alaska now. I've really enjoyed my time here in Anchorage but I'm beginning to feel domesticated. I do need to keep moving. I never knew I had such a transient spirit. Every encounter I have with new people is positive yet I feel so renewed by a departure. Maybe I'm delving too much into my own neuroses. Though, little by little I gather from the people of each location the reason why they choose to live there. I would like to live somewhere else for a while. Perhaps somewhere I've been on this trip or somewhere totally sight unseen.
I think I'll be heading out of Alaska for now. Might try to hit up Valdez before I leave though. It is a long trek back to the lower 48 and I'm trying to find a rideshare at the moment. But por en caso, I did finally crack down and buy an ipod, so it can be all country all the time. Gas is super expensive in Canada and not much better here ($4.60 in Homer), so, a travel companion will definitely help out. My first real stop will be Missoula, Montana. My itinerary is pretty open (faithful readers, any suggestions or must-sees?). Though, I'm eager to meet up with some friends in Chicago, Michigan, and Brooklyn. Until then.
This is something I look forward to seeing again on the Alaskan Highway
